67 East Kutai Students Received Scholarships From KPCover 3 years

3 Doctoral Degree Candidates, 17 Master Degree Students, and 47 Under Graduate and Diploma Students
DESEMBER 2015 - In 2015, a total of 67 students from East Kutai community member received scholarship from PT Kaltim Prima Coal ( KPC) KPC’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) program. From those scholarship beneficiaries, 3 of them are Doctoral degree candidates, 17 master degree students, and 47 under graduate and diploma students.
Hence, since 2000 KPC has distributed scholarship for as many as 1,250 students. KPC Chief Operating Officer (COO) Muhammad Rudy said that scholarship as one of KPC CSR program is aimed to improve East Kutai’s human resources competencies and potentials.
“We continue to strive together with the people of East Kutai for the improvement of this region. One of our effort is through education. I believe that by improving the quality of local human resources in East Kutai, can help boost the region’s economic development, at the same time nurture the awareness to join hand in building this region, “ said Rudy, Friday early in December 2015.

“We are entering the free market era, in which demand more of qualified human resources. What KPC has been doing is in line with this current development. We share the same spirit, because the government has majorly invested in education through the 12 year mandatory study program and scholarship program,” said Edwar(*)
