KPC Donates Computers and Servers worth USD 778 Millionover 1 year
PT Kaltim Prima Coal (KPC) again proves its commitment to give education assistance in East Kutai. For the successful implementation of the National Computer Based Exams (UNBK) in the region of East Kutai, KPC donated 73 computers and 17 servers to 15 schools in the regency which worth Rp 778 million.
The handover ceremony was conducted in SMAN 1 Sangatta Selatan, Monday (20/2). The school was appointed by KPC and Education Department of East Kutai Regency as handover coordinator. The handover ceremony was attended by the Regent of East Kutai, Ismunandar, Louise Pessireron, Acting GM ESD KPC, and the School Principals.
Tatik Widayani, Principal of SMAN 1 Sangatta Selatan expressed her appreciation to KPC which has donated computers and servers. In her speech, she said the donation is very useful for the implementation of UNBK. As handover coordinator, Tatik also reported that the donation has been accepted by all the parties included in the list of beneficiaries.
Meanwhile, Louise said that the program began with a donation proposal from Catholic High School St. Yoseph which needed computer for UNBK. "KPC communicated with the Education Department of East Kutai Regency, and the data showed that a number of schools also need computer and server on the same interests," she said.
Moreover, Louise explained that KPC decided to give assistance after coordination with relevant authorities and see the urgency of the procurement of computers and servers for UNBK. "We donated Rp 778 million from CSR funds. Hopefully, they're useful and on target, "said Louise.
On that occasion, Ismunandar also appreciated KPC which has been concerned with the advancement of education in the regency. "KPC assistance supports the success of the learning process in schools, particularly schools that receive the assistance," said Ismu.
Furthermore Ismu said, East Kutai government will record schools that will hold computer-based test. "This year we are still focusing on school in Sangatta Utara and Sangatta Selatan. Next we will see the readiness of schools in Bengalon and Rantau Pulung, "said Ismu.
