Assist Sangatta Students with 56 Computers and Servers16 days
PT Kaltim Prima Coal (KPC) again showed its concern to the world of education, by providing assistance of 46 units of computers and 10 servers, for the implementation of Computer Based National Exam (UNBK) for Junior High School in Sangatta.
The handover of computers and servers was done directly by GM External Affairs and Sustainable Development (ESD) KPC Wawan Setiawan, on Friday (15/12), at SMPN 5 Sangatta Utara.
These computers and servers assistance are the second time, after last year providing with the same assistance for the implementation of Senior High School UNBK in Sangatta. This time the computers were given to eight schools, one of them from the Senior High School level ie SMAK St. Yosef Sangatta. The eight schools will hold UNBK with a total of 545 students.
GM ESD Wawan Setiawan in delivering his speech, expecting computers and servers can help children who will hold the test in Sangatta. "We hope that this computer and server assistances can overcome UNBK obstacles in Sangtta. And of course we hope, children can follow UNBK calmly and smoothly, "said Wawan.
Secretary of the Education Office of East Kutai Roma Malau expressed his appreciation for KPC's support for students in Sangatta. "We feel being helped by the existence of this computer and server to smooth UNBK in Sangatta. Thanks to KPC because this is what schools need today, "said Roma.
Furthermore, Roma said that KPC’s role in world of education in East Kutai is very large and the benefit has been accepted directly by the community. "We know recently that KPC pays incentives for 3,856 non-civil servant teachers and honorariums in East Kutai. This has been received by our teachers. After that there are S2 and S3 scholarships which are mostly received by teachers in East Kutai. In addition, the computers and servers assistance, is the extraordinary role of KPC for education in this East Kutai, "said Roma.(*)
